The Diman RVT Varsity Bengals erupted for 25 runs and pounded out 24 hits in a dominant 25-2 victory over Cape Cod RVT on Monday. Leach sparked the rally with an RBI single before DoRego lined an RBI double and Falcon followed with a two-run double. Correia added an RBI single, Almeida lifted a sacrifice fly, and the Bengals continued to pour it on with another RBI single from Leach, a two-run double by DoRego, an error, and a run-scoring hit from Cestodio. Cape Cod briefly answered in the bottom half of the inning when Maso launched a two-run homer to right field, but Diman never looked back. The Bengals added two more runs in the third on RBI singles by Falcon and Cestodio before breaking the game wide open with a 12-run fourth inning. Perreira highlighted the outburst with a three-run homer to left, while Correia, Nickelson, Teixeira, Almeida, Leach, and DoRego all drove in runs during the frame. Leach earned the win on the mound, allowing just two runs on two hits over five innings while striking out seven. Offensively, DoRego and Perreira each drove in three runs, while Falcon, Leach, Cestodio, Correia, Almeida, and Teixeira all had multi-hit performances. DoRego also stole two bases as the Bengals swiped four total. Cape Cod was led by Maso, who finished 1-for-2 with the team's only two RBIs.
